When you have the camera feed up, does it show live feed constantly or just when you click on a specific camera?
Also what outlet did you install behind the wall mount?
How you keep charging I pad constantly
I am just eating food, and you?
I would recommend that you also put Aqara leak sensors under your refrigerator (for water line to ice maker), dishwasher, washing machine, hot water heater, and HVAC air handler. These are all possible places were a leak could occur and cause water damage.
I need to up my smarthome game, I have a few things speakers, nest google photo hub, but no lights and my cameras are wyze.
thnx kevin..! in the proces of creating a smart home, this video was a great help 👊🏼
Nice video! 5:39 That's some pretty serious delay there.
fyi ipad is always on… just the screen is idle (off)
You could just use a homebridge or homeassistant server to convert your non-homekit devices
Lutron works all day everyday. They’ve been around a long time and are completely reliable. Smart bulbs are for accent lighting only in my home. The novelty wears off quickly. They also lose wifi sporadically. Especially LIFX.
You mention using an old pad, but the home+ app requires iOS 14 😥😥😥
KNX WTF!
Good video. I have been using the Lutron Caseta even before I got into home automation. They are a solid device and worth it. A big plus is they do not need a neutral wire in the switch box. I have the hub so I can control them with Home Assistant.
Is homekit being used simultaneously with your smarthings hub?
Dude! Not sure how I missed this one. Thanks for the shoutout! Your HomeKit setup is looking amazing! Nice job!
Hi Kevin, did you meet the problem that aqara motion sensor cant trigger Lutron switch if you only use iPad as a hub? How do you make the aqara sensor trigger switch on instant? Thank you in advance.
I use iWalldock which is now Simplidock. It is a flush mount and I just run a cat6 POE to keep it powered. The new second generation wifi version of WeMo are amazing! Personally they are more esthetically pleasing than the Lutron. The Lutron looks clunky
how do you automate waking the ipad?
Since the ipad was wall mounted is always plug for power supply, isnt it bad for the battery health of the ipad?
How did you get your room photos setup?
Could you please elaborate on the wall iPad and how to use a motion sensor to turn it on or off please?
I also have a wall mounted iPad and I’d love to know how to use my Philips hue motion sensor to turn the display on or off.
Thank you. Great video.
Nice video! Your setup is very similar to mine. Maintaining a smart home in both Google and HomeKit, Lutron switches, Hoobs to bring in Nest. I haven't setup many sensors yet, but Aqara is the way I will go. I'm using Meross for plugs and a garage door opener, Rachio for Sprinklers, and Level Touch on the front door. Also have Nest Thermostat and smoke alarms. Subscribed to catch your future videos. Cheers.
Wow smart!! Very well done
Hi. What does the icon for that Home app look like so I can make sure I'm installing the correct one? Or can you add the link to that app in the description area?
I made my own wall mount. Works perfectly and looks good. Using Control4 for my own home automation.
Which smart plugs are the best to be used with HomeKit and Google Home Mini. I have just installed my ecobee3 thermostat in my home. I want to add more stuff in my homekit app. I'm currently using tp-link smart plugs. I want to switch to Apple ecosystem that is compatible with Google voice assistant also.
If Apple puts a screen on a HomePod in the future you might not need this.
Also, the Home app used to not have the list of rooms as a menu on the side. I don’t know why they introduced this because it looked much cleaner prior to this.
Kevin, thanks for sharing! 👍
Great summary video; some really useful stuff for someone like me who is planning a hybrid Apple/Google smart home now. Thanks!
This is so good, now I know how I'll set up my future home!
Dope video… Where can I find those dope HomeKit wallpapers?! 1:02
Sounds expensive 🤪
