  1. I would recommend that you also put Aqara leak sensors under your refrigerator (for water line to ice maker), dishwasher, washing machine, hot water heater, and HVAC air handler. These are all possible places were a leak could occur and cause water damage.

  2. Lutron works all day everyday. They’ve been around a long time and are completely reliable. Smart bulbs are for accent lighting only in my home. The novelty wears off quickly. They also lose wifi sporadically. Especially LIFX.

  3. Good video. I have been using the Lutron Caseta even before I got into home automation. They are a solid device and worth it. A big plus is they do not need a neutral wire in the switch box. I have the hub so I can control them with Home Assistant.

  4. Hi Kevin, did you meet the problem that aqara motion sensor cant trigger Lutron switch if you only use iPad as a hub? How do you make the aqara sensor trigger switch on instant? Thank you in advance.

  5. I use iWalldock which is now Simplidock. It is a flush mount and I just run a cat6 POE to keep it powered. The new second generation wifi version of WeMo are amazing! Personally they are more esthetically pleasing than the Lutron. The Lutron looks clunky

  6. Could you please elaborate on the wall iPad and how to use a motion sensor to turn it on or off please?
I also have a wall mounted iPad and I’d love to know how to use my Philips hue motion sensor to turn the display on or off.
    Thank you. Great video.

  7. Nice video! Your setup is very similar to mine. Maintaining a smart home in both Google and HomeKit, Lutron switches, Hoobs to bring in Nest. I haven't setup many sensors yet, but Aqara is the way I will go. I'm using Meross for plugs and a garage door opener, Rachio for Sprinklers, and Level Touch on the front door. Also have Nest Thermostat and smoke alarms. Subscribed to catch your future videos. Cheers.

  8. Which smart plugs are the best to be used with HomeKit and Google Home Mini. I have just installed my ecobee3 thermostat in my home. I want to add more stuff in my homekit app. I'm currently using tp-link smart plugs. I want to switch to Apple ecosystem that is compatible with Google voice assistant also.

  9. If Apple puts a screen on a HomePod in the future you might not need this.

Also, the Home app used to not have the list of rooms as a menu on the side. I don’t know why they introduced this because it looked much cleaner prior to this.
